Biography

Allison's professional experience includes working as a certified public accountant, small business owner, and entrepreneur. He earned an associate degree from Blackhawk Community College in 1998 and a bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University in 1999. From 1990 to 2018, Allison served in the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Air National Guard, and U.S. Army National Guard.[1]

Ken is 27.5 year retired military veteran with 3 combat tours in Afghanistan, having served in both the Army an Air Force. Ken is also a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Illinois with over 20 years of progressive experience. Ken has been in public practice providing tax and accounting consultation services to individuals as well as small businesses for the last 10 years. Ken is a seasoned business owner and entrepreneur that owns five businesses in the Greater Peoria Area in various industries. Ken specializes in the acquisition of distressed businesses while using a "shared service" model to help bolster top line revenue and shared overhead costs.
  • Transparency is the singular focus of this platform. It's completely missing from our entire system of government. I plan to deliver transparency through every single legislative action.
  • Trust is the one characteristic missing from all political candidates from here to D.C. I plan to earn trust 1% at a time.
  • Rarely do we see politicians that fully understand what it is to be a public servant. After serving 27.5 years serving this country and the State of Illinois, I fully understand what it is to be a servant leader.
The State of Illinois is the most taxed and most corrupt state in the union. Simply speaking, my plan is to sponsor legislation that demands full transparency from all elected officials and at the same time restores our rights as citizens using the Constitution as the guide. In terms of public policy, it is important to weed out the corruption and self dealing within the State so that Illinois can return to prosperity. To that point, my plan is to resurrect the State of Illinois to become the beacon of hope that it should be.
To earn trust. Be transparent. Serve the public interest. Seems simple enough, but rarely is it seen in action. Especially in Illinois
Simply put, I just want my children to be proud of me. That is the single driving force behind my willingness to serve.
The first job I ever had was as a dishwasher for a locally owned restaurant. I didn't have a shred of working experience but needed a job so that I could pay for essentials such as clothes and shoes. I was 16 years old and of course needed to make money to help pay for fuel and insurance. I worked there for about a year, essentially from the end of a football season to the start of the next. My best friend and I were hired at the same time and often would work together. If we did a good job that night, the management team would ensure that we were able to eat something. Being a dishwasher is not the most prestigious role in a restaurant but it is no less important. If the dishes are not clean, people will not return. That job, while being menial labor, taught me the basics of doing a job to standard and would later serve me well during my time in the military.
Captain America. He is what it is to be a servant leader.
In our current state, absolutely not. In fact I would prefer someone with a solid work ethic and character than anyone that has a full working knowledge of what it is to be a public servant. Here in Illinois, we see fully where electing experienced candidates gets us. The state of Illinois is completely broken from the local levels to the Capitol. Sadly everyone knows it. To that point, we need candidates that are proven in life, proven in business and proven in service to our communities. We need to elect people that are the hidden talents of our communities vs the preordained candidates brought up within the two major parties.
The State of Illinois' greatest challenge, will be to rout out corruption and self dealing within our governance. If we can solve that problem, Illinois will once again be prosperous.
Legislators should be fully engaged not only in their respective districts, but also in neighboring districts and those districts where the legislator has a connection. It will be the only way to ensure that the will of the people is fully represented and will help mitigate the self dealing that goes on within our state legislature.
