Kenneth Callahan was a judge of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas General Division in Ohio. He assumed office on December 15, 2021. He left office on December 9, 2022.

Callahan (Nonpartisan, Republican Party) ran in a special election for judge of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas General Division in Ohio. Callahan lost in the special general election on November 8, 2022. He advanced from the special Republican primary on May 3, 2022.

He was appointed to the court on December 6, 2021 by Gov. Mike DeWine to replace Nancy R. McDonnell.

Biography

Callahan earned his bachelor's degree at John Carroll University and his law degree at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.[1] Callahan previously served on the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas General Division from 1993 to 2009. He also worked as counsel for Mansour Gavin LPA and as a litigation lawyer at Collins and Scanlon.[1] Callahan also previously worked as a partner at Buckley King LPA. He has served as the director of the Geauga County Public Defender's Office.[2]

Callahan was the president of the Catholic Lawyers Guild, Cleveland Civil War Roundtable, and Manos Inn of Court. He has been a member of the Cuyahoga County Charter Review Commission and the Federal Judicial Advisory Commission. He has also co-chaired the CMBA Judicial Selection Committee. Callahan has been awarded the Cardinal Bellarmine Award, the Golden Gavel Award, and the William Rehnquist Award. He has been named a Cleveland Marshall Alumni Member of the Year.[2]
