Kenneth Del Vecchio was a 2016 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 18th Congressional District of New York.[1] Del Vecchio was defeated by Phil Oliva in the Republican primary.[2]

Del Vecchio was a 2011 Republican candidate for District 38 of the New Jersey State Senate.

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Democratic. Incumbent Sean Maloney (D) defeated Phil Oliva (R) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Maloney was a member of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's Frontline Program, which was designed to help protect vulnerable Democratic incumbents heading into the 2016 election. Oliva defeated Kenneth Del Vecchio in the Republican primary, while incumbent Maloney faced no primary challenger. The primary elections took place on June 28, 2016.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][2]

Vecchio ran in the 2011 election for New Jersey Senate District 38. Vecchio was defeated by Republican candidate John Driscoll, Jr. in the primary on June 7, 2011. Democratic candidate Robert Gordon ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 8, 2011.[13]

  • Our Creator: I believe in God, and am proud to say it.
  • The Constitution: I understand the Constitution and I will use all legal efforts to have it enforced. Strict adherence to the United States Constitution—period.
  • Less Government: Thomas Paine said it correctly: “That government is best which governs least.” I will not tolerate big government intrusions into our lives, nor a “nanny state” mentality.
  • Eliminate The Irs & Income Tax: The IRS is the product of an unconstitutional act perpetrated by our government. Here’s a little known secret: the United States Constitution initially did not authorize a personal federal income tax. The Constitution does speak about taxes, but only in the forms of “apportioned” taxes, and “Duties, Imposts and Excises.” The Sixteenth Amendment “changed” this, but it has been abused—and we can change it back to the intentions of the Founding Fathers. I would outright abolish the IRS.
  • Boosting The Economy & Creating Jobs: In 2013, I moved my entertainment business operations to the Paramount Theater in Middletown, New York, wherein I immediately re-instituted having the theater screen movies seven days a week – and brought in top, live comedy shows such as Kevin Nealon, Paul Reiser, Gilbert Gottfried, Larry Miller, Jimmie Walker, and Vic DiBitetto; this type of programming had not been performed in nearly 20 years at the Paramount. My efforts have brought the Paramount Theater and Middletown unprecedented attention, to the extent where even Jay Leno mentioned it on “The Tonight Show” in one of his last appearances
