Kenneth Willard is a former member of the Kansas State Board of Education, representing District 7. A Republican, Willard was first elected in 2002 and was re-elected in 2006, 2010, and 2014. He did not file to run for re-election in 2018.

Biography

A veteran of the U.S. Navy with service in the Vietnam War, Willard worked in insurance for 33 years after his return to civilian life, working both as an insurance agent and as an agency sales manager. Willard has served as the president and secretary/treasurer of the National Association of State Boards of Education and received the association's distinguished service award in 2016.[1]

Kansas State Board of Education (2003-present)

Willard was first elected to the state board in November 2002 and took office in January 2003. He was re-elected in 2006, 2010, and 2014. Willard has served as the board's representative to the Kansas Teacher of the Year program. He did not file to run for re-election in 2018.[1]
