Kent Ernest Cattani is a judge for Division One of the Arizona Court of Appeals. He assumed office on February 8, 2013. His current term ends on January 1, 2029.
Cattani ran for re-election for the Division One judge of the Arizona Court of Appeals. He won in the retention election on November 8, 2022.
Cattani is the chief judge of the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division One. He was appointed to the court by Republican Governor Jan Brewer on February 8, 2013, to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Ann Timmer to the Arizona Supreme Court.[1][2][3]
Education
Cattani earned his bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in 1982 and his J.D. from the University of California Berkeley School of Law in 1986.[4]
Career
Cattani began his legal career as an associate attorney, first with the law firm of Jennings, Strouss & Salmon from 1986 to 1989, and then with the law firm of Beus, Gilbert & Morrill. In 1991, Cattani joined the Arizona Attorney General's Office as an assistant attorney general. He spent 22 years with the Arizona Attorney General's Office, serving as unit chief, section chief, division chief and finally solicitor general, before his appointment to the Arizona Court of Appeals in 2013.[4]
