|I graduated from Baylor in 1987, and Baylor Law in 1988. I have tried 150 cases in 65 courts in 32 counties, and have handled numerous appeals in 9 of the 14 Texas courts of appeals and the Texas Supreme Court.
I am Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law. I am AV-rated, which means other attorneys have ranked me as having the highest level of professional excellence, legal expertise, and ethical standards.
Marisa and I have been married for 38 years. We have 4 daughters, and 10 grandchildren. I am an ordained Southern Baptist deacon, and we are currently a members of First Baptist Conroe.
- I am Constitutional conservative. I believe our rights come from God, and we have created local, state and federal governments to protect those rights. The authority of any elected or appointed official is entirely dependent on the Constitution and legislation, and it is an abuse of power any time an official acts outside of that authority. As an appellate justice, I will operate within my Constitutional authority. I will not legislate from the bench. I will simply apply the law to the facts of each case rather than attempting to achieve a political agenda.
- I am a social conservative. I am strongly pro-life and pro-family. I support law enforcement and the rule of law. I believe our 1st and 2nd Amendment rights must be protected. These include the freedom to exercise our religious beliefs, speak our minds, peaceably assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances, and the right to keep and bear arms.
- I am an economic conservative. I believe in free markets, low taxes, reduced governmental interference and spending, personal economic responsibility, thrift and generosity.
