While I am aware that we need outside businesses, tourists, foreign industry partners, sister city commerce, and support from around the world, I think the politicians have gotten caught up in their own rhetoric, and overlooked the people who matter most in our beloved city…San Franciscans. We can’t be spending time in India looking for outsourcing jobs for the tech and garment industries, when there are homeless people here in San Francisco that could use those jobs. We shouldn’t have let the 49ers move to Santa Clara, when a new stadium-shopping complex would have revitalized Hunters Point. We can’t keep letting Oakland take all the Shipping and Transport business, when San Franciscans could benefit from just a fraction of that business. For the greatest city in the world to have the roads we have, the sewer system we have, and the homeless problems we have, is just unacceptable in my view. I know we need to look at all the major issues: crime, education , and health care are among my top priorities. But I would like to do things that have an immediate impact on the city and citizens of San Francisco. Some of the ideas I have listed below may be too idealistic, too realistic, and too common sense for most politicians. They want to get reelected and so will compromise their values, ethics, and promises to do so. I am running once and once only and I ask for your support to return the city to the control of it’s citizens, for the benefit of it’s citizens. I won’t seek endorsements from anyone that isn’t a voting eligible citizen of San Francisco, and won’t take money from people or businesses courting favors. So if you would like 4 years of someone working on your behalf alone, send me $5 or $1 and tell me your pet peeve about San Francisco, and lets get something done we can all be proud of. I am not a politician, but I am a manager that has brought over 400 budgets in on time and at or under budget. This city needs a manager to get things organized and achieving the goals we set. I can do that and within the budget. [4] |
