Kent Stevens was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 53 of the Kentucky House of Representatives.[1]

Stevens served in the Kentucky House of Representatives, representing District 55 from 2009 to 2011. He ran unsuccessfully for District 1 of the Kentucky House of Representatives in 2012.

Stevens is the Owner of Laketown Motors. He is previously served as a Principal at Heritage Elementary, Collins Lane Elementary, Simpsonville Elementary, and Western Anderson School.[2]

Elections for the Kentucky House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was January 28, 2014. Kent Stevens defeated Donna Crain Drury and Stewart Gritton in the Democratic primary, while James A. Tipton ran unopposed in the Republican primary. Tipton defeated Stevens in the general election.[1][3][4]

Stevens ran in the 2012 election for Kentucky House of Representatives District 55. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on May 22, 2012, and was defeated by incumbent Kim King (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[5]

Stevens' opponent in the November 2 general election was Republican candidate Kim King. According to official results, King defeated Stevens by a margin of 9,167 to 8,002.[6]

Stevens ran unopposed in the May 18 Democratic primary election.[7]

2008

On November 4, 2008, Stevens was elected to the 55th District Seat in the Kentucky House of Representatives, defeating Timothy Gray (R).[8] Stevens raised $72,887 for his campaign, while Gray raised $6,843.[9]
