Kent Walston is a judge of the 58th District Court in Texas. He was elected in 2014 to a four-year term commencing January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2018.[1] [2] Walston ran unopposed in 2018 and was re-elected for a second term expiring December 31, 2022.[3]

Primary: He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014.
General: He defeated Tom Rugg, Sr. in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 55.7 percent of the vote. [1][6] 

Education

Walston earned a B.B.A. from Lamar University, going on to receive his J.D. from Baylor University.[7]

Career

Prior to his election to the 58th District Court, Walston was a municipal court judge for the City of Nederland. He previously worked as an attorney in private practice in Jefferson County and gained over nine years of experience in law enforcement.[7]
