LOUISVILLE, Kentucky: On November 24, Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson (R) announced he would not be a candidate in 2011. Grayson, who is term-limited out next year, had been expected by many to challenge Jack Conway (D) for the Attorney General's seat.
In a statement Grayson said, “After many hours of reflection, conversations and prayer with family, friends, advisers and others, I want to announce ... that I will not be a candidate for attorney general — or any other office — in 2011.[1]
Conway, who lost his bid for the U.S. Senate to Rand Paul in November, recently announced he would seeking re-election. In May, Grayson had sought the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate, which he lost to Paul.[2]
