Kentucky Supreme Court reverses Appeals Court desicion on domain seizures
March 20, 2010
Kentucky: The Kentucky Supreme Court released a statement Thursday, March 18, that reversed a state Court of Appeals ruling that voided a lower court ordering of the seizure of 141 domain names of gambling websites. The Supreme Court tossed the ruling because none of the websites were represented by their actual owners, but instead by trade associations who were representing their members. The state court, however, declared that domain names, like real estate, must be represented in court by their actual owners.[1]
