Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Condley's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Jobs: Our economy does not work without good jobs that can support middle class families. That is why Kerri’s first priorities in Congress are to bring good-paying jobs to the Inland Empire and cut taxes for individuals, small businesses and corporations.
  • Veterans: 2 billion in emergency funding to the Department of Veterans Affairs to upgrade veteran medical facilities for the 8.5 million veterans served each year
  • Securing the Homeland: It is more important than ever that Congress work to secure our borders. The overwhelming cost of illegal immigration is a burden to all Americans. Congress must act to secure the border region, and to enact comprehensive immigration reform that protects citizens and the economy.
  • Medicare: We must fight for Medicare. I oppose dismantling Medicare and replacing it with a program that offers the elderly less. We do not need to end Medicare in order to save it. Forcing seniors into the private market with a voucher to purchase more expensive private coverage is not a solution. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) concluded that seniors would spend more for health care because private plans would cost more than traditional Medicare.
  • Eliminating the Deficit: Kerri rejects the idea that Big Government must raise taxes on working Americans to reduce the deficit. First, we must cut government waste, fraud, and abuse that cripples our economy and increases the deficit. Below are five steps that Kerri will fight for to eliminate the deficit without raising taxes.

2014

Condley's campaign website listed the following issues:[8]

  • Jobs: "As a former business owner, Kerri understands the importance of small businesses and entrepreneurism, and knows that we need to make it easier for businesses to succeed in America. She will support policies that reduce the regulatory burdens on small businesses and provide companies new incentives to invest in American workers."
  • The Environment: "Climate change is real, and we here in California are feeling the impact more than most Americans. Wildfires, droughts, and violent storms are increasing in intensity, and causing more damage to our region. The change in climate has an enormous effect on agriculture and crop yields, hurting our district’s farmers and working families, and increasing problems with water resources."
  • Education: "Every American student deserves the chance to receive a quality, affordable education. Unfortunately, tuitions and class sizes are both growing at unsustainable rates."
  • Immigration: "Achieving comprehensive immigration reform is crucial for our nation. Millions of undocumented immigrants who live in the United States work hard, contribute to society and deserve to be treated fairly. Kerri supports a Pathway to Citizenship that will allow these future Americans a chance to step out of the shadows and openly participate in our society."
  • Civil Rights: "Kerri believes every person is entitled to equal rights regardless of race, religion, gender, age or sexual orientation. She believes every person has the right to marry whomever he or she chooses and will fight to protect the rights of the LGBT community. In Congress, she will work to repeal federal marriage discrimination laws and extend equal federal protections to gay and lesbian couples."
