Two of seven seats on the Belton Independent School District board of trustees were up for at-large general election on May 6, 2017. Newcomers Janet Leigh and Ty Taggart defeated incumbent Jason Carothers and challenger Kerri Pearson to win the seats.^[1]^[2]
