Kerry is an Arizona native and a proud product of public schools. As a child of two public school teachers, she grew up in the Washington Elementary School District and attended high school in the Glendale Union High School District. After high school, she graduated from Arizona State University with my Bachelor's in both Special Education and Elementary Education. She taught for 7 years in both Peoria Unified School District and Dysart Unified School District.
  • Student success is one of Kerry’s top priorities. When she says she supports ALL students, she means it, regardless of race, ethnicity, food insecurity, special education, twice exceptional, LGBTQ+ status, gifted, ELL, and more. She understands that every child is unique and providing necessary resources to meet those needs is critical to student success. Working with parents and families to truly understand their needs is also important to Kerry. Parents are a vital part of their child’s educational path, and supporting them also helps with student achievement and academic recovery.
  • As a former teacher, she has an in depth understanding of the challenges teachers are facing. She is endorsed by The Fund for PV children and SOS Arizona. A true public education advocate, she works hard to ensure educators in PVUSD feel supported and respected. Kerry promises to continue to provide the necessary resources for PVUSD teachers to prepare students for their futures. She values the importance of engaging all staff in the decision-making process. Educators are the experts, and their expertise needs to be honored.
  • Strong schools make strong communities. Once elected, Kerry would ensure and promote respectful and productive collaboration. In addition, she would help with policy that prepares EVERY student to succeed in career, college, and community. As a governing board member, Kerry will ensure transparency and accountability of public funds.
I am passionate about strong public schools, the funding that comes with it, LGBTQ+ rights, and voting rights.
