Kerry Bowers was a 2016 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 3rd Congressional District of Nevada. Bowers was defeated by Danny Tarkanian in the Republican primary.[1]

Nevada's 3rd Congressional District was a battleground district in 2016. Republican incumbent Joe Heck, who began serving in Congress in 2010, chose to seek election to the Senate in 2016, leaving the seat open. Jacky Rosen (D) defeated Danny Tarkanian (R), David Goossen (Independent), and Warren Markowitz (Independent American) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Rosen defeated five other Democrats to win the primary, while Tarkanian defeated six primary opponents. The primary elections took place on June 14, 2016.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][1][12]

  • Second Amendment: Therefore, the Constitution, neither explicitly stating nor otherwise implying an authority of the federal government to limit in any way the right of the people to keep and bear arms, points to the conclusion that any attempt by the federal government to excise such obstruction is unconstitutional.
  • National Debt: Perhaps the greatest threat to our nation today from either within or without is our growing national debt. It is our greatest threat because it impairs our ability and capabilities to respond to all other threats to our security and the general welfare of our nation.
  • Taxes: The Fair Tax complies with the Founders’ intent that federal revenues be obtained principally through consumption taxing; that they be uniform; that the laws applicable to the tax are well understood; and that the collection of such federal imposition should be, as appropriate, delegated to the states to reduce the burden on the taxpayer.
  • Social Security: The Social Security program, as well as Medicare, Medicaid and other individualized social welfare programs, are on course to become what they were always destined to become by their very nature and that is an unsustainable financial burden upon the nation.
  • Immigration: Illegal immigration has become a threat to our nation through the neglect of both the federal government and the people who, together, have failed to act responsibly and promptly to first, impede and then, eliminate the threat. Now, we are faced with a near overwhelming challenge that is complicated by the sheer numbers of illegal immigrants and the numbers of Americans who, for reasons of the heart, chose to support the plight of those who have entered our country illegally or overstayed their authorized tenure.
