I have lived in Central Ohio for over 30 years and have called Blacklick home for the past decade as part of the Licking Heights School District. With more than three decades in the private sector, I’ve led people, managed budgets, and driven strategic results grounded in accountability and collaboration—skills that directly translate to effective school governance. My commitment to service extends beyond my career. I’ve volunteered at a men’s shelter through Lutheran Social Services, completed the Community Leadership of Licking County program, served on an advisory board for a payments organization, and currently participate in United Way’s Project Diversity Pride Leadership program. I’m also a proud father of a daughter attending The Ohio

State University.

Education has always been central to my life. My parents, though not college graduates, instilled in me the belief that education is the foundation for opportunity. Their encouragement—along with the guidance of a mentor—helped me become the first in my family to earn a college degree. I hold a B.A. from Denison University and an MBA from the University of Dayton.

As a board member, I will champion academic excellence and equity, ensuring all students are prepared for success—whether that means college, career, or military service. I’m ready to bring a fresh perspective, collaborative leadership, and a deep personal commitment to helping Licking Heights students thrive.
  • Despite strong overall results on the State Report Card, key academic opportunities remain. We must strengthen early literacy and post-secondary readiness—two critical milestones for lifelong success. Currently, over 30% of third graders read below proficiency, and fewer than 55% of graduates are fully prepared for college, military, or workforce pathways. I will collaborate with the board and superintendent to learn from high-performing districts and continuously refine strategies to close these gaps through early education and intervention, family engagement, advising and navigation support, and industry partnerships.
  • Teachers are the lifeblood of a successful school district. They make unspoken and unseen sacrifices to ensure our children receive the educational, emotional, and social safety required to thrive in the classroom and beyond. Teachers are at the center of transformational education experiences. Transformational educational experiences are educational learnings and/or experiences that the student and possibly their family carries and leans on for the rest of their life. These experiences are priceless and life changing. Therefore, I will be a staunch advocate for ensuring we have policies, processes and practices that attract, develop, and retain talented and experienced teachers.
  • Public school education is under attack. This is being played out in our state legislature as they seek to divert funding from public to private education. It is essential to explore alternative revenue sources to fund our school district. I will work tirelessly to leverage corporate assets in and around the school district to assist with funding the core funding needs of our district. Additionally, I will proudly advocate on behalf of the district before our legislative body, promoting the brand, story and support required for sustainable top-tier academic excellence in the state.
Public policy shapes opportunity and quality of life. Equitable funding for public schools, access to early education, and affordable higher education ensure all students can succeed. Supporting job creation, workforce development, and affordable housing strengthens communities and local economies. Access to public health and healthcare services is essential for well-being and productivity. Together, these priorities create a foundation for opportunity, equity, and shared prosperity.
The legacy I hope to leave is one of meaningful, lasting impact, especially in education, opportunity, and community well-being. I want to be remembered as someone who helped create programs and initiatives that empower individuals and families to reach

their full potential. Education has been a cornerstone in my life, and I hope my efforts contribute to a community where every student—regardless of background—has access to high-quality learning, early literacy support, and guidance that prepares them for college, the workforce, or military service.

I also hope my legacy reflects a commitment to stronger, more resilient communities through access to healthcare, affordable housing, and economic opportunities. By supporting workforce development, job creation, and mentorship, I aim to leave structures that help individuals thrive and contribute to the broader community.

Equally important, I want to be remembered as someone who fostered collaboration, listened to diverse perspectives, and worked with others to implement solutions. Lasting change comes from bringing together educators, families, community leaders, and
organizations to address challenges and build inclusive programs.

Ultimately, I hope my legacy is one of service, vision, and tangible outcomes: a community where students are prepared to succeed, families are supported, and opportunities are accessible to all—a foundation for continued growth and success for generations to come.
The people of the school district elect and entrust the Board of Education to represent their legislative and judicial interests, while the administrative functions of the district fall under the purview of the Superintendent. In turn, a school board member holds the Superintendent
accountable for the effective and efficient leadership, supervision and administration of the district. With over three decades of private sector experience, I am well-prepared to serve on the school board. I have led people, processes, systems, budgets, and strategy. I know how to navigate complex challenges, build consensus, influence decisions, and deliver meaningful results.
