Kevin Bacon
Kevin Bacon (Republican Party) was a member of the Ohio State Senate, representing District 3. He assumed office in 2011. He left office on December 31, 2018.
Bacon (Republican Party) ran in a special election to the U.S. House to represent Ohio's 12th Congressional District. He lost in the special Republican primary on May 8, 2018.
Bacon also ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Ohio's 12th Congressional District. He lost in the Republican primary on May 8, 2018.
Bacon was unable to run for re-election in 2018 to the Ohio State Senate because of term limits. He was first elected to the chamber in 2010. Bacon served in the Ohio House of Representatives, representing District 21 from 2007 to 2011.
Biography
Bacon earned his B.A. in political science from Miami University and his J.D. from Capital University Law School. His professional experience includes working as an attorney for Farmers Insurance and as an enforcement attorney for the Ohio Department of Commerce. Bacon also previously served as a trustee for the Blendon Township.[1]

Elections for the Ohio State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 6, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 5, 2014. Star Johnson was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Kevin Bacon defeated Kevin Solveson in the Republican primary. Bacon defeated Johnson in the general election.[2]

Bacon was eligible to seek re-election to the state House, but decided not to. Instead, Bacon was elected to the Ohio State Senate in District 3. He was unopposed in the Republican primary and defeated Mark Pfeifer (D) and William Yarbrough (L) in the general election.[3][4][5][6]

Bacon and his wife, Melissa, have three children. They currently reside in Minerva Park, Ohio. In May 2011, Governing Magazine named Bacon one of 17 "GOP Legislators to Watch." Each of the legislators was selected on the basis of qualities like leadership, ambition, and political potential.[11]
