I have spent the last two decades doing a range of community building across a diverse set of organizations both domestically and internationally. I began my career as a researcher for a popular novelist and as an English teacher abroad in Japan. I worked for the United Nations in the Ethics Office at Headquarters and with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) as well as the University of Ghana to enhance local community security in West Africa. As both a Campaign Manager and Community Organizer, I have helped candidates win election and reelection in three US states.

I began my journey in workforce development as an Employment Specialist and Case Manager supporting people with disabilities as well as individuals who were formerly justice-involved to find and sustain employment in the Central Florida area. Since moving to Colorado and as an independent consultant, I have helped build community engagement strategies for Colorado nonprofits supporting individuals in their unique employment journeys. I have most recently served as the Director of Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships at the Second Chance Center in Aurora.

In the private sector, I have led security operations and community teams at Disney, Airbnb and Lyft, most recently focusing on social impact initiatives to support nonprofits and small businesses with essential transportation during the pandemic.

I formerly served on the Election Commission for the City of Centennial.
  • Serving People over Parties. Elected representatives should be true public servants who value, listen to and represent the diverse opinions and experiences of people in their constituency, not their personal self-interests and plays for power based on boilerplate party agendas, traded favors and the influence of lobbying firms.
  • Community Security and Health requires more than Public Safety. On issues ranging from gun violence prevention and criminal justice reform to housing affordability, environmental advocacy, immigration and supporting the underserved, modern leadership requires skills and experience in learning from and effectively managing vast complexity as a baseline.
  • Community Opportunity lives in Employment, Entrepreneurship and Education. By continuously growing the options people have for diverse and accessible educational and employment pathways that meet their needs and passions as well as opening the way for entrepreneurs and small businesses to succeed all with the right implementation of technology and transportation in a supportive ecosystem, sustainable progress in our community will be ensured.

Integrity. Transparency. Empathy. Inclusion. Responsiveness.
My first official job was working in fast food service at Walt Disney World in Florida for about two years. The costumes I wore were interesting to say the least for now.
