Biography
Education
Blazs received his undergraduate and master's degrees from Liberty University, his J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a Master of Laws from the University of London.[1]
Career
Prior to his Circuit Court appointment, Blazs was a judge on the Duval County Court from 2006 to 2011. He's also worked in private practice (1990-2006), served as trial counsel for the U.S. Army Reserve (1992-2001), was a law professor in China (1989-1990) and served as assistant state attorney for the Duval County State Attorney's Office (1987-1989).[1][3]
In the press release of Blazs' appointment to the Circuit Court, Governor Scott said,
"Throughout his impressive 24-year legal career, Judge Blazs has defended, prosecuted and presided over both criminal and civil cases, providing him with a vast knowledge of the law and procedure. Equally impressive is the fact that Judge Blazs has continued to pursue advanced education during his time as a lawyer and judge – endeavors that are reflected in the wisdom of his rulings.
