Campaign themes

2014

Brown's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]

Creating Jobs and Opportunities

  • Excerpt: "Unemployment rates are too high and too little has been done to help rural communities. We must bring jobs back to our community and help our small businesses. Many of our students leave our communities after completing high school and college because of the lack of jobs. We must provide opportunities for them so that they will remain in the community to raise their families."

Educating Our Children

  • Excerpt: "As a graduate of our public school system and a parent of students in our public school system, I know the value of and treasure a public school education. I believe that every child has the right to a first class public education. I believe that taxpayers’ dollars should be spent on public education. Parents deserve the power over our schools, not bureaucrats."

Promote and Support Healthcare for All

  • Excerpt: "Many rural communities have witnessed the closure of rural hospitals and therefore shiver at the thought of not having adequate and easily accessible healthcare. I will fight to provide all Georgians (especially those in rural communities) with adequate and affordable healthcare. Access to preventive healthcare will save taxpayers’ dollars and lives."

Support to Veterans

  • Excerpt: "As a veteran of the United States Army, I understand the struggles that our military members face when returning to civilian life. I will fight to improve benefits (health, education/training and jobs) for our soldiers as they transition to civilian life. They fought for us so we should fight for them."
