An effort to recall Mayor Kevin Corcoran is underway in North Ridgeville, Ohio.

Corcoran was elected as mayor of North Ridgeville in 2019. He was re-elected in 2023.

Recall supporters

The Chronicle-Telegram reported that the petition states as grounds for recall that Corcoran's policies benefit residential developers over new businesses and that the city's safety services haven't maintained appropriate staffing levels.[1]

Recall opponents

In a response to the recall effort, Corcoran said, "The recall petition is not grounded in facts nor the best interests of the community, but in personal grievances. My focus has always been on results, not rhetoric, and I remain committed to moving North Ridgeville forward."[2]

No specific grounds are required for recall in Ohio. To get the recall on the ballot, supporters must collect signatures from qualified electors equal to 15% of the votes cast at the most recent regular municipal election. Supporters of the recall have 90 days to circulate petitions from the day the first signature is collected.[3]

The recall petition was filed with the North Ridgeville's Clerk of Council on August 7, 2025. Organizers have 90 days to submit about 5,400 valid signatures in order to put the recall on the ballot.[2]
