Campaign website
Craig’s campaign website stated the following:
“ |
Respecting Our Nation's Past The Declaration of Independence says you have a duty to abolish any government which becomes a tyranny. That's how America was born: our Founding Fathers abolished their own government. The same year Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence, Adam Smith wrote a book called The Wealth of Nations, considered to be the first treatise on capitalism. The Constitution was designed to promote Free Markets and guard against tyranny. Some great Americans, like Patrick Henry ("Give me Liberty or give me Death!") could see that the Constitution's guards against tyranny were inadequate, and they refused to support the Constitution. They were right, and if America's Founding Fathers could travel through time and see the government we have today, they would take up arms to abolish it. If they succeeded in abolishing Washington D.C., Missouri would be a separate economy the size of Poland. Kevin Craig is a pacifist. He believes we should abolish tyranny by ballots rather than by bullets. He is the only candidate in this race who is committed to promoting legislation to abolish all unconstitutional bureaucracies and federal programs. Unconstitutional spending amounts to over $10,000 for every man, woman, and small child in America. If we followed the Constitution, and Washington D.C. were bound down by the chains of the Constitution, how much better off would your family be with an extra $10,000 per person per year? Republicans will never abolish unconstitutional bureaucracies, because Republican leadership wants Republicans behind every desk in these wasteful and unconstitutional bureaucracies. They want the armed FBI agents who break down your door at 3am to be Republicans. Nobody in Congress takes the once-sacred oath seriously. The oath to "support the Constitution" means nothing if it doesn't mean promising to NOT support and fund anything which is NOT Constitutional. That should be obvious. Will electing one Libertarian to Congress persuade Democrats and Republicans to keep their oath to support the Constitution? No, of course not. But it's a start. Voting for the same politicians who got us into this mess is not a start. It's a wasted vote. Once he gets all unconstitutional programs abolished, Kevin Craig would work to do what America's Founders would do: abolish even the Constitutional programs. America's Founding Fathers made two huge mistakes. First, they engaged in a violent armed insurrection against the British government. The Bible prohibits the violent overthrow of tyrannical empires. Jesus said "resist not evil" and "Render unto Caesar," who was a violent pagan invader who slaughtered thousands of Jews, and enslaved them, claiming to be god. Second, having abolished the government, America's Founders then created a new one -- which turned out to be worse than the one they abolished. They believed God required human beings to form "governments." 100% pure laissez-faire capitalism was not allowed, they believed; there had to be some socialism or some fascism. But they were wrong about this. They believed God required society to have a "public sector." That's not what the Bible says. [3] |
