Kevin D. Roberts is the president of the Heritage Foundation, a think tank based in Washington, D.C.. According to the foundation's website, its mission is to "formulate and promote public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense."[1] Roberts began serving as the seventh president of the Heritage Foundation in December 2021.[2]

Biography

Roberts received a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1996, a master's degree in history from Virginia Tech in 1999, and a doctorate in American history from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003.[2]

From 2003 to 2005, Roberts taught college-level history courses.[3] In 2006, he founded the John Paul the Great Academy, a private Catholic school in Lafayette, Louisiana.[2] Roberts served as the Academy's president and headmaster until 2013.[2] From 2013 to 2016, Roberts served as the president of Wyoming Catholic College in Lander, Wyoming.[2]

In 2016, Roberts began working as the executive vice president of the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF), a think tank based in Austin, Texas.[2] He became the executive director in 2018 and the chief executive officer in early 2021.[2]

In December 2021, Roberts began serving as the president of the Heritage Foundation, a think tank based in Washington, D.C.[2] At the time, Roberts said, "Heritage has led the conservative movement with distinction and its policy solutions have improved the lives of our fellow citizens. I look forward to continuing this legacy and addressing the challenges we face today and in the future."[4]
