My name is Kevin Daniels and I am running for Union County Commissioner in North Carolina. I retired from the US Air Force in 2017 after serving 20 years as an air traffic controller.

I have always had an interest in government and politics and became active in local politics after settling down here with my wife. I went back to school using the G.I. Bill and received Bachelors' degrees in Communications and Political Science.

I was motivated to run this year after watching our local politicians being influenced by extremist groups. They started making decisions that couldn't be reasoned or explained.
Inequality. Currently we are seeing development after development being built with houses starting at $300k on the low end. There aren't enough options for the average citizen to live here in Union County anymore. We are pricing our own citizens out of the county.

We no longer have houses that can be purchased by young folks starting out. We don't have houses that are affordable to folks looking to upgrade from an apartment.

All of our restaurants have help wanted signs, but who can afford to take those jobs and live in the county?
