Mental Health issuess can affect classroom learning and social interactions, both of which are critical to the success of students. Providing the services that children and youth need to help them better manage and support their mental health needs at school can be quite challenging. However, if the appropriate services are put in to support a young person's mental health needs, we can maximize success and minimize negative impacts for students.

Helping to cultivate every student in the Columbus City School District into the leaders of tomorrow
One of my first memorable events i can recall is September 11, 2001. I was 31 years old and I remember being at work and huddled around a tv and computers watching the towers fall and people running on the news channels. Little did i know the sacrifice and bravery of first responders going into the buildings helping to save lives. When I think about the event I and reminded of those who sacriice themselves for someone else to live.

make decisions on a wide range of issues, such as hiring and evaluating a superintendent and treasurer; setting district policy; planning student services; goal-setting and long-range planning; adopting curriculum; establishing budgets; engaging parents; being good fiscal stewards; acting in the best interest of the school district and within the scope of their legal authority; and creating community relations programs.

Work with the superintendent and administration to ensure teachers are representing a wide range of voices in the curriculum.
Engagr community members in problem-solving solutions to issues that affect the schol district and build strong relationships with external organizations that work with the district .
I believe it should be a priority of the district to strive for stronger diversity and to create authentic cultural change. The quality of both teaching and learning improves and will benefit everyone.
Funding plays a major role of getting in the way of quality education? Less funding means smaller staffs, fewer resources and a lower number of services for students.
Great teachers set high expectations for all students. They expect that all students can and will achieve in their classroom, and they don’t give up on underachievers. The students are measured based on their standardized testing scores.
Create a new generation of entrepreneurs. The Dwight School - "Spark Tank", is designed to nuture student innovation, entrpreneurship, and leadership skills beyond the classroom.
Advocate for school funding strategies that are needed for urban school districts
Schools should train students and staff on safety protocols and warning signs. With heightened awareness, the school community will be better equipped to respond to—and, when possible, minimize or prevent—a crisis.
Using technology in the classroom gives teachers and other faculty members the opportunity to develop their student's digital citizenship skills. It's one thing to use mobile devices, it's a completely other thing to know how to use them correctly and responsibly.
Schools should determine, in collaboration with state and local health officials to the extent possible, whether and how to implement each of these considerations while adjusting to meet the unique needs and circumstances of the local community.
Help build a stronger dialog and relationships with parents by attending events which parents attend. In addition making myself available to hear the challenges and concerns of parents with students currently enrolled in the district
