Ballotpedia survey responses
Harrison stated the following about his political philosophy in a biographical submission to Ballotpedia:[3]
“ | UNITY: People come before politics! I am a proud Conservative who hopes to bring people together to accomplish the goals and purposes of the UNITED States of America. We will never make real progress with policies before we make progress on a personal level. My great hope would be that lawmakers would work together for the common good of ALL Americans.
CHARACTER: Political and social unrest has deeply impacted our country, including the current scandals from Hollywood to Washington DC to network television. Character is a major issue in this election because a person's failure to live with character will disqualify them from leadership! I believe honor and respect are more than political principles, but a way of life. REAL SOLUTIONS: I have real plans and solutions for addressing the major issues of: National Security, The National Debt, Immigration Reform, Healthcare I've been married since July 3, 1987 to my best friend, Becky Neel Harrison. We have two daughters: Mikaela, 21, who is a junior at TCU, and Julianna, 16, who is a junior at Mansfield Lake Ridge High School. I've always been there for and with people, and have responded when there was a crisis or need, including disaster relief in Texas, the US, and globally. I'm running because I see a great need and know I can be a part of the solution to problem of partisan politics. I've got a proven track record of working with people from ALL social, ethnic, and political backgrounds. Additionally, I'm confident my 30 years of experience as a pastor helps me to better know and understand the lives of everyday people. People have always been my #1 priority and we need a Congressman who will not forget why they were sent to Washington in the first place: To faithfully represent and serve the people and protect the Constitution.[4] |
