A question about whether to recall Kevin Hudson from his elected position as a city councilor of Vernonia, Oregon, in Columbia County took place in a special recall election on June 10th, 2011. Hudson was recalled from his seat.[1] Two other Vernonia city councilors, Willow Burch and Marilyn Nicks, were recalled on August 4th, 2011.[2]

Reasons for recall

Sharon Bernal led the recall effort. "At the heart of the recall are questions about the councilors’ firing of Haack and the handling of an investigation into police Sgt. Michael Kay, who was accused of falsifying his K-9 certification and lying to his superiors," according to The South County Spotlight.[2]
