Kevin Huffman is the former Tennessee Commissioner of Education. He was first appointed to the position in April 2011 by Governor Bill Haslam.[1] Huffman submitted his resignation to Haslam in November 2014, giving way to Candice McQueen in January 2015.[2]

Biography

Huffman spent nearly two decades working with public education systems as a teacher, lawyer, nonprofit executive and nonprofit board member.[1] Huffman began his education career as a first and second grade bilingual teacher in the Houston Independent School District, teaching students in English and Spanish.[1]
