In response to a question from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram about his top priority if elected, Johnson said, "I will speak for the people of District 8. I will bring business back to the community and help develop a plan to keep money invested in the community. We need education to be a major priority. Our schools have to be properly funded in order for our children to have an equal opportunity post high school. I plan to watch funds for all projects are spent and completed."[1]
In response to a question about the three most critical problems facing the city, he said, "Fort Worth is in desperate need of development in District 8. There is commercial land in many parts that can be used to bring jobs into the community. These jobs can not only employ our neighborhood but give needed products and services within a reasonable distance. We also so require a council person who will speak for the people and not who can donate the most money. Regarding the recent events, the people of this city need someone who will stand up for what’s right and make uncomfortable stances because it is the correct thing to do."[1]
