Kevin Labenz
Kevin Labenz was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 23A of the Minnesota House of Representatives.
Campaign themes
Labenz's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]
Jobs
- Excerpt: "I want to make sure Southern Minnesota stays a vibrant place to live and raise families, but it's becoming more and more difficult for a young person to make a living in the community they grew up in."
Agriculture
- Excerpt: "Agriculture is our heritage and the backbone of our economy. As Bev Durgan, Dean of the University of Minnesota Extension, has pointed out, our family farmers are entrepreneurs and job creators, and I will work to see that ag jobs can continue to support farm and non-farm families alike."
Education
- Excerpt: "I strongly believe that fully funding our schools and early childhood programs is key to having long-term economic success. Funding cuts and larger classroom sizes are not the way to give our children the best education they deserve."
