Candidate Connection

Kevin Leineweber participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on April 8, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Kevin Leineweber's responses follow below.[1]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1) Indiana's children (Education & Dept. of Child Services)

2) Human Rights
3) Environment and Energy[2][3]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

I’m running because I am a family man that wants to leave a promising future for generations to come. As an educator, scientist and parent that fosters to adopt teenagers; I saw a need for a change in leadership in Indiana. Indiana needs compassionate people who believe in human rights to lead the State forward. I am also worried about Indiana’s lack of environmental protection and renewable energy development. I know it is time for me to use my strengths as a leader in our State.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[3]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Kevin Leineweber answered the following:

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?

I have a well-rounded background in education (teaching, coaching and administration), as well as, being an entrepreneur. It is my passion for people that led me into receiving multiple teaching and small business awards (both at the State and National level), working within the professional community, and earning my master’s degrees.[3]
What legacy would you like to leave?
I would like to leave an Indiana full of hope and promise for generations to come.[3]
What was your very first job? How long did you have it?
My very first job was pushing a shopping cart down the streets of Chicago for people who bought their groceries at the local market, but did not have a car. I would deliver the groceries into the home. I did this job for a few years while also doing other random jobs.[3]
If you are not a current legislator, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of?
I would like to serve on the following committees: Education; Environmental Affairs; Family, Children and Human Affairs; Natural Resources; Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications; however, there are others that I would also be willing to serve on.[3]
