Puett answered the question, "What is your political philosophy?" on Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form. Below is his response:

I'm an ardent pragmatic centrist that's frustrated with congressional inaction, excessive spending, and political divisions. I want to bring back bipartisan leadership to improve the safety, security and prosperity for everyone in our country. As a representative in Congress I will focus the majority my time on writing and enacting legislation focused on: 1. Improving our National Security. 2. Fiscal Responsibility and Deficit Reduction. 3. Social Security Stabilization. 4. Healthcare Reforms to drive down cost and expand coverage to all Americans. 5. Immigration Reforms to reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies and ensure that all non-American workers are here legally. 6. Congressional Reforms that will bring bipartisanship and fiscal responsibility back to the Federal Government.[2]
