|I am happily married, own a home in beautiful Waukesha and have proudly raised children who went through the Waukesha Public Schools.
I am happy the redistricting has given The City and Village of Waukesha an opportunity to send someone to Madison that represents our interests. I will be that person if elected.- Reform the Shared Revenue system in Wisconsin. Our Cities, Counties, Police and Fire, Teachers, Schools and Universities are struggling to keep services from declining and getting and keeping staff with rising costs but stagnant income. This is the result of a 20 year old formula based on a 2% inflation rate, and gives the Republican Controlled Legislators a slush fund of over 3.5 Billion dollars that they have been using and holding hostage from the Cities and Counties who provide our services. The Republicans are now suggesting to "refund" it to the taxpayers. What they won't say is they have been collecting this money that was intended to provide our services and using a 20 year old formula and keeping the excess.
- Protecting Women's Healthcare Wisconsin and Waukesha have come out time and again voting for Women to have autonomy over their own healthcare and decided with their own Doctors and without Government interference. We need to fund and support full Healthcare for all people and women's Healthcare access should be presumed to be a right. Women's Health is a Human Right.
- Defend Democracy I believe in a Government where we govern by rule and vote. The January 6th attempt to overthrow a legally democratically approved process and instead attempted violence, intimidation, misinformation and lies to change a legal election motivated me to run for office and step up and defend Democracy. In Wisconsin I was appalled by the attempts to invalidate my and your votes by national and local actors and was glad it failed. I intend to fiercely defend our Wisconsin elections and defend them against whoever tries to take them away.
In my various capacities I have either worked with or closely with, people who deal with Alcohol and Drug Addiction, Mental illness,
Incarceration, Developmental Disabilities, Hospice and end of life care and care deeply for the unique struggles of these populations.
3 and half. I remember how sad and quiet everyone got. Remember MLK and Bobby Kennedy's Assassinations and the turmoil and riots as well as the Civil Rights issues. I grew up in the middle of Carroll College( now University) and remember the tension and turmoil the young people were involved in with all these issues. Can't leave out Vietnam. In other words kinda seen our country go through dramatic and sometimes painful change. We need clear headed compassionate people in office. We live in times now where clear headed decent forward thinking people need to step up and protect democracy and address our many issues.
Delivered papers from 10 to 15 years old, when I got a job at 15 years old at the Waukesha Dairy Queen on Ravine Ave in Waukesha. Got a job at 17 at Westmore County Club as a Dishwasher and started learning from the chefs there and started a lifelong passion and a way to put myself through College at UW-Oshkosh.
It was key toward helping me to see how to live a life worth living even whe in the midst of suffering. It works when things are going fine too, just makes life better. Highly recommend.
Two of the smartest and compassionate politicians who fought the good fight for the people.
This is a win for both parties. Wisconsin needs to catch up to what our citizens by and large want.
Who knew I would have an intense interest in our City Wastewater Treatment Plant, Waste Management, Roads and Infrastructure. I see a large part of my role is to ask questions that our citizens should know. How our tax dollars are spent and to ask the hard questions. Is this the correct way to do this? What are the alternatives? How much does it cost? How is it being paid and who is being paid to do it?Did they do it right, Did they do it on time.?
All the meetings are recorded and can be viewed online. Transparency is vital to responsible government. Decisions made for the public good should be made as much as possible in the light of day and in the open. The current political situation right now is so contentious that bipartisan solutions are rarely being put forward. If we can improve this situation on areas we can find consensus that will benefit all citizens.
