I'm running for Minnesota State Senate because I want to keep Minnesota moving forward by enhancing Minnesota values with common sense solutions. We are witnessing an attempt to reverse decades of Minnesota progress in the environment, quality education, affordable healthcare, fair housing, human rights, and many other important issues. As a long-time Democrat, I want to be an advocate for continuing progress in all of these areas. In addition, I have been a practicing attorney for over 35 years and founded my own business. For over three decades, I've consulted and advised small businesses on issues that are critical to them. I have negotiated millions of dollars of business transactions, and pride myself in a "can do" approach of achieving favorable results without compromising core values.
  • I will work for world class education
  • I will work for world affordable and accessible healthcare
  • I will fight for social reform
I'm a life-long Democrat and now that I have finished raising and coaching my five kids in Burnsville and Savage athletics, I want to give my time to serving our community as your State Senator. I will fight for the issues that matter most to our families: affordable healthcare, social reform, world-class education, environmental stewardship, livable waged jobs, and a strong economy. I'm not a career politician tied to special interest like many other candidates - but I want to be your Senator because Burnsville is home our family and I want the best for our community.
I was born and raised in Owatonna, Minnesota as one of six children. I often tell people "I grew up on a beer truck" at my father's beer distribution company as a truck driver and warehouse worker. After I graduated from Owatonna High School, I earned my degree from the University of St. Thomas and my JD from William-Mitchell Law School.

I have negotiated millions of dollars of business transactions, and pride myself in a "can do" approach of achieving favorable results without compromising core values. I am not a career politician, yet I will bring my real-world experience in business, the law, and the community to our state government.
