Victoria Independent School District Board of Trustees District 1

Kevin VanHook is the District 1 representative on the Victoria Independent School District Board of Trustees in Texas. He was first elected by special election in 2011 to fill an unexpired term.[1] VanHook automatically won re-election when the general election that was scheduled for May 7, 2016, was canceled due to lack of opposition.[2]

Three of the seven seats on the Victoria Independent School District Board of Trustees were up for by-district general election on May 7, 2016. The seats of District 1 incumbent Kevin VanHook and District 7 incumbent Michael DiSanto did not appear on the ballot due to lack of opposition. Both incumbents were automatically re-elected to additional terms. The race for the open District 6 seat featured candidates Micah Hatley and Margaret Pruett. Pruett defeated Hatley to win a seat on the board. There was no primary.[2][3]
