I am Khalid Emshadi, candidate for House Representative district 24. The reason that I am running for House representative is that, recently I moved to ALBUQUERQUE and I see problems here! Those problems take me back to where I came from! I am an immigrant who came with my wife from Libya. I came to the United States of America in 2008. I did NOT want to raise my family in Libya and wanted to pursue the American Dream. USA welcomed my small family, I finished my education, I have masters in physics from Washington State University, another Masters in Material & Science Engineering from WSU, and then got my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota State University. Then, I got a good job opportunity here in ALBUQUERQUE. I am now a Principle Engineer in one of two companies in the entire world with the focus on developing and manufacturing solar cells for space and defense application. My wife and I have 5 kids, 3 boys and 2 girls. When I moved here, I see crime, poor education, No leadership from the politicians, I see borders look like the borders that I came away from, I left to escape! I took New Mexico as a home for me and my family. Then, I decided to stand up and make it a safe place for our families and children, support the police, small businesses, and improve education. I am a pro-life, pro-family, pro-police, and pro-2nd A.
  • Crime:- It's no secret that crime in Albuquerque is out of control. Our so-called "leaders" in office have exacerbated the problem and expect New Mexicans to be complacent. We need to work to strengthen relationships between the police and our community, bring back qualified immunity for first responders, and reform New Mexico's broken bail system.
  • Education:- Our children are entitled to a quality education, and parents should never settle for less. Rather than funding institutions that fail students, we should instead fund students and give parents the allowance they need to send their children to a public, private, or charter school of their choice.
  • Economy:- Right now, irresponsible government spending is one of the biggest issues impacting New Mexico's economy. Khalid will be a voice in Santa Fe to regulate the state budget. By reducing unnecessary government spending, we can reduce taxes in New Mexico and put more money in the pockets of hardworking New Mexicans.
Energy

With my background in solar energy he understands not only the industry, but the science behind how to make New Mexico a leader in new energy technology.
