Kim Amontree is the District 2 representative on the Charlotte County Public Schools Board of Education in Florida. Amontree won the seat in the by-district primary election on August 30, 2016.

Amontree has been treasurer for the Center for Abuse and Rape Emergencies (CARE), Church of the Good Shepherd, Charlotte Academy, and Charlotte Local Education Foundation. She also was the co-chair of the School Advisory Council (SAC) at Port Charlotte High School. Amontree is currently working as Immediate Past President of Charlotte Local Education Foundation. She is also on the Board of Trustees for Virginia B. Andes Community Care Clinic. Amontree earned her M.B.A. from the University of South Florida and her B.S. from the University of Colorado.[1]

Two of the five seats on the Charlotte County Public Schools Board of Education were up for by-district primary election on August 30, 2016. Kim Amontree defeated fellow newcomers Robert Dolar and Joseph Williams for the District 2 seat. Wendy Atkinson won the District 5 seat in the primary against David Morris.[2] The District 3 seat was originally set to be on the ballot, but when incumbent Bob Segur was unopposed in his bid for re-election at the passing of the filing deadline, the election for the seat was canceled and Segur was automatically re-elected.
