Appelbaum completed a voter guide profile for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:
| “ | What are your top priorities for the district?
My top priorities are: Education for all - continue to find creative ways to provide educational opportunities; Safety – not only assuring our buildings are safe but also students feeling safe socially and emotionally; and Financial stability- continue to focus on our financial responsibility to keep costs down but continue to perform as a top school district. Why are you qualified to serve in this office? I have served on the board the past three years and have a new respect for what is required to run a large school district! I have had the pleasure of participating on the TLA and student services subcommittees and the SSD Governing Council. I have been involved as a parent from grade school to high school on the PTO, as a party planner and now Band Boosters.[5] |
