I am an active community member who moved with her family to Granby, CT, 14 years ago to be close to my parents. I use my Masters in Social Work everyday in my family and community life. As Chair of Granby Education Foundation, board member for Granby Ambulance Association, member of the Granby Commission on Aging, and volunteer at the Barkhamsted Senior Center with the Lions Club, I have proven leadership and community commitment. I work with people of differing opinions every day and strive to create consensus and solutions that benefit our students, our seniors, and our small towns. I can represent this district because I know its people and understand their values. As your State Representative, I will work across the aisle to get small towns a seat at the table and a strong voice for our issues in Hartford.
  • I will fight to stabilize our property taxes by fully funding public education, the biggest part of our towns' budgets.
  • I will fight for safe schools with access to mental health services and resources to support students.
  • I will fight to support our small businesses and family farms through diesel gas tax forgiveness and access to quality healthcare.
As a mom and a daughter, I am passionate about education, seniors, and healthcare access. I talk to voters who are concerned about keeping their homes and staying in their communities. I know that our schools provide many more free and reduced priced lunches to children than just a few years ago. I hear the stories of people who cannot access the medical, dental, and mental health care they need to lead productive lives. Affordability is a huge problem for our communities but one that a strong legislator can solve by working with other small town
representatives to get our issues in front of the House leadership and find real solutions. We all want our seniors to have the ability to age in place, our children to have a solid public education, and everyone to have access to quality healthcare.

I would like to be part of the Education and Transportation committees because they greatly influence economic growth and families' ability to become financially secure.
I absolutely believe in working in a bipartisan manner to find common ground and solutions for the issues that small towns face. Good ideas come from many places regardless of party designation. In my experience, listening and doing matter more than titles and provides community buy in because people feel heard. Voters want government to function for their benefit; not to save them but to give them a hand so they can be productive.
