Kimberly Shaw is an associate judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit Court, Division 5, in Boone County, Missouri. She was elected to the court on November 4, 2014, for a term commencing on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2018.[1]

Shaw ran for election to the 13th Judicial Circuit Court.
Primary: She was successful in the Democratic primary on August 5, 2014, receiving 52.2 percent of the vote. She competed against Finley Gibbs and Rob Fleming.
General: She defeated Michael R. Whitworth in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 51.9 percent of the vote. [1][2] 

2010

Shaw lost to incumbent Judge Larry Bryson in the Democratic primary for his associate judge seat on the 13th Judicial Circuit Court.[3]

Education

Shaw received her undergraduate degree from Columbia College and her J.D. degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1989.[4][5]

Career

Shaw began her legal career working as a public defender in Cape Girardeau County. Afterwards, she returned to Columbia to work in the capital division handling death penalty cases throughout Missouri. She was promoted to district defender of the central capital division prior to entering private practice in 2000. The next nine years of Shaw's career were spent practicing law in mid-Missouri, during which time she served on the family law committee and the criminal law committee of the Boone County Bar Association. Prior to her election to the 13th Judicial Circuit Court, Shaw served in the Boone County trial office of the public defender.[4]
