Kim Thomas Smith is a Georgia native, raised with deep Southern roots and values that taught her leadership is not about titles; it is about responsibility. When you see a need, you step in. When people are struggling, you show up.

When she chose Henry County, it was not by accident. She was drawn to its small-town, countryside feel, its sense of unity, and its people. What began as a place to live became much deeper. Henry County did not just become her home—it became her calling.

She has also served through Helping In His Name Ministries, Inc. and other outreach efforts that meet immediate needs while helping people move forward, organizing food giveaways, toy drives, Angel Tree programs, and holiday assistance so families have meals to share and children do not feel forgotten during hard seasons.

Kim’s service shows up where people live, worship, and need help most. She has worked with churches, nonprofit partners, apartment complexes, schools, and volunteer networks to make sure resources reach real people, not just paperwork.

She has made wellness calls to seniors through the One2One Telephone Assurance Program with the Atlanta Regional Commission, mentored and tutored students, supported youth through community programs, and helped neighbors navigate systems that can feel confusing and overwhelming.

Kim’s service shows where people live, worship, and need help most. She has worked with churches, nonprofit partners, apartment complexes, and schools.
  • “One Voice” means every resident deserves to be heard—seniors, families, students, small business owners, caregivers, and neighbors who often feel overlooked.

Kim knows people don’t need politicians who talk at them; they need leaders who listen to them. That’s why she is committed to creating real ways for the community to be part of the legislative process, including regular town hall meetings, community listening sessions, and resident surveys.

Because when people are heard, the laws and policies she champions will reflect real needs not just politics.
  • “One Vote” means every voice counts, no matter who you are or where you live in Henry County. Kim believes participation is power. Voting is how residents shape their future, hold leaders accountable, and make sure their interests are represented at the State Capitol, not just the interests of lobbyists or special interests. She will work to expand civic engagement, keep residents informed, and make sure state government is accessible, transparent, and responsive.
  • “One Henry” means we are stronger together. Henry County isn’t made up of separate neighborhoods or competing interest, it’s one community with shared hopes and shared challenges. Kim believes that listening leads to informed decisions, and informed decisions lead to better legislation and stronger advocacy for Henry County at the state level.
Dr. Kim Thomas Smith is driven by a deep commitment to service and strengthening community. She has spent decades supporting families through hands-on work addressing housing stability, food access, senior wellness, youth mentorship, and neighborhood safety. Her passion is ensuring that every resident has the opportunity to thrive. In the legislature, she will focus on lowering the cost of living, improving healthcare access, strengthening schools, enhancing public safety, and building practical solutions that bring people together and move the community forward.
