Kim Wallin
Kim Wallin is the former Nevada Controller. She was first elected in 2006 and re-elected in 2010.[1] She was ineligible to run for a third term in 2014 due to term limits. Wallin ran for Nevada State Treasurer but lost to Dan Schwartz (R) in the general election on November 4, 2014.
Biography
Wallin was born in Nevada. She has worked as a professional accountant for over three decades.[2]
In 1984, she founded a Las Vegas-based accounting firm, D K Wallin, Ltd., and remains president of the firm as of the end of her second term as state controller.
Wallin is a member of the XBRL International Public Sector Work Group, a member of the AGA Partnership for Intergovernmental Management and Accountability Steering Committee and is a Director on the NASC Executive Committee.[3]
Wallin graduated from University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a degree in business administration with a major in accounting.[1][4] She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), as well as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Certified Financial Manager (CFM).[2]

Political career
Nevada Controller (2007-2015)
Wallin served as the Nevada Controller from 2007 to 2015. She unseated incumbent Steve Martin in the general election on November 7, 2006. She was re-elected in 2010.[1]
Elections
2014
Wallin was barred by term limits from seeking re-election in 2014, and ran for the office of Nevada Treasurer while current treasurer, Democrat Kate Marshall sought the office of Nevada Secretary of State.[5] The general election was held on November 4, 2014.[6]
