Kim's story is your story.

Fed up with lawmakers continuing to choose inaction, Kim decided it was time. Time to be heard. Time to help Kansans. Time to get things done.

She refuses to believe we're as divided as what's being reflected in the Kansas House of Representatives. It's time to elect people who have the courage to stand up to power and put Kansans first.

She's a military wife, mom of a 5-year-old boy. She and her husband are in their late 40s. They have a mortgage, student loan payments, healthcare premiums, and all the pressures that a working class family face.

Her story is not uncommon. Her story is your story. These are the stories that deserve to be represented in the Legislature.

  • Make government work on behalf of Kansans, not against.
  • Protect our freedoms and rights, not take them away. Strengthen the democratic ideals of our republic.
  • Keep our communities safe and secure.
Public education is the great equalizer. I hear far too many times from educators, "I just want to teach, not put out fires caused by policies." We need to keep our public schools and special education programs fully funded. We need to back our teachers and support them, which means trusting them to perform their professional duties.

Reproductive rights, marriage rights, individual rights: This is the year 2022, and I cannot believe we are talking about these issues. How dare our current policy-makers force us to spend our time on defending these rights from being taken from us! Instead of fighting to keep rights that we've already won, we should be working on finding solutions to help the people in our state.

Hospitals and schools are the key components of a local economy. When you risk losing either or both, you risk your community becoming a ghost town. Medicaid expansion, robust schools, and safe public spaces are all vital in keeping residents in our communities from leaving. Without Kansans, we have no Kansas. And so we must remove the challenges that are pushing people out.

I've always stood up to bullies.

In 8th grade, I called Tracey D. a "b----" on the volleyball court in gym class because she was making fun of my friend who wasn't very good at volleyball. Well, that made her and her mean girl friends go after me for the next two weeks until school ended for summer break.

While it wasn't fun being threatened by them, their threats confirmed that standing up to bullies and sticking up for my friends will always be the right thing to do.

And that is exactly what I'll do as House Rep for District 67 in Kansas: stand up for the people in my district. I will always have their backs and will stand up for what is right.
