I am a hard-working business owner with over 20 years of making decisions that not only kept our business going but also placed us at the top of our industry.

I believe in the free market, individual liberties, and a limited government.

I AM pro-life.

I will use my business experience, my work ethic, and my practical attitude to bring our government back to the limitations originally intended by our wise framers.

I am here to work for you. No one will fight harder to do what is right.

For more details on my beliefs and qualifications, to contact me, or to support this campaign for liberty go to www.ButlerForAlabama.com
  • 1) Limited government - The purpose of government is to create a framework for which citizens can live their lives in pursuit of their happiness. Any government law or tax that goes above that purpose is a government overreach. My goal is to make Alabama a magnet for people and businesses who believe in the free market as the absolute best option for all people. People are leaving California and New York in droves because of the massive socialistic government that is taking over their lives. I am a proud Alabamian, but if we don't stop this government growth, we will not be much better in the future. I don't want to just be "better by comparison," I want Alabama to be the greatest, most prosperous, most liberty-loving state in the U.S!
  • 3) Medical Freedom - I am not "pro-vax" or "anti-vax." I believe that each person has a right to investigate the options and make the best choice for him/herself and his/her family. The first way to make sure that this happens is to make sure that information is not suppressed. Suppression of ideas and speech makes it difficult, if not impossible, to make an educated choice Secondly, we have to remember that what is good for one person is not necessarily good for someone else. We need to understand that healthcare is not a one-size-fits-all answer. What this means in legislation is that I will never vote for a bill that takes away one's medical freedoms.
  • 3) Constitution - I support ALL of our constitutional rights. I will gladly fight for you for all of your rights. I know that Amendments 1, 2, and 10 are truly under attack. Since these are 3 are under fire, let me assure you that your religious freedoms and your right to bear arms will be a number one priority. In addition, I will defend Alabama's authority in ALL rights not specifically given in the constitution to the federal government. This is the "all else" amendment. I will fight to keep all power as close to the individual as possible. Currently, there is a fight in Alabama for Bama Carry. I support this 100%!
Life, Liberty, Fiscal Responsibility, Medical Freedom, and Constitutional Rights

I understand the purpose of government, and how far we have strayed from this concept. I understand business, I have common sense, compassion, and a great work ethic.
Voting as you were elected. Many legislators run on small government and no new taxes, and quickly forget that promise once elected.
I want Alabama to be the greatest, most prosperous, most liberty-loving state in the union!
Personal: Unoffendable by Brant Hansen; Spiritual: The Holy Bible; Financial: Profit First by Mike Michalowcz; Government and Economics: Anything by Tomas Sowell
Running a business, losing my brother at a young age, raising my children.
Open communication, and NEVER should the Governor pressure Legislators to vote differently than their districts want.
The pro is the same as the con. It is difficult to pass bills when they must pass identically through both houses. This is wonderful to slow the growth of government, but frustrating when trying to undo bad legislature.
No. Elected officials will do better when they have real-life experience. People who never have real jobs or responsibilities outside of politics do more damage than good.
Simplicity. Our districts are so confusing. People within the same neighborhood often do not even have the same representative. I believe State House Districts should be a division of the State Senate, which should be a division of the Congressional Districts.
Finances and Budget, Sunset Committee, Fiscal Responsibility Committee, Transportation, Utilities and Infrastructure Committee, Limestone County Legislation Committee, Rules Committee, Commerce and Small Business Committee, Ways and Means Education Committee
I believe that emergency powers should be granted by the legislature.
Compromise within the ideas with which we all agree? Sure, there is some level of give and take to accomplish the goals. Compromise against our values of life and liberty? No.
