In an interview with Vote411.org, Fobbs made the following statements:

State budgets and fiscal policy

• Excerpt: "I recommend we consider all sources of revenue generation. Specifically there are credible and bi-partisan solutions from the Oklahoma Policy Institute that can serve as a guideline. Both in practice and common sense, we must roll back the tax cuts in the face of our dire budget shortfall caused by foreseeable and catastrophic poor decisions from our Legislature leading to a systemic and concentrated erosion of revenue."
• Excerpt: "Immediately to protect our elderly and vulnerable populations in our state with already unacceptably high poverty, under-employed and under-insured rates, we should accept federal dollars for Medicaid expansion. Our legislature does not object to Federal funds for natural disasters and roads and bridges, nor does it have a problem borrowing against off the top money. Why then does it refuse to accept monies that help every day working, middle class families? I advocate electing leaders with the integrity and fortitude to govern, not pander."

Education

• Excerpt: "Given the recent budget proposal on the table as the legislative session ends, a failure to provide textbooks, remedial services for the most needy, and the list goes on, demonstrates our Legislature's values are not aligned with the peoples' checkbook and concerns. Current proposals are unacceptable and challenge as of the date of my survey response that we have not met our obligations and may require special session, the legislature having willfully cut Oklahoma's education funding 8 consecutive years to decrease per pupil funding to the nation's bottom in percent of cut decreases.The correlation between the lowest third of Oklahoma achieving college degrees and earning power to exceed poverty levels is clear. This is unacceptable and ending EOI exams does not go far enough."

Incarceration

• Excerpt: "There are many factors that impact incarceration and our budget problems will only increase the rate going up in the short term. Without funding adequate services for mental health, substance abuse and support of our Veterans, we are criminalizing more people in crisis who can otherwise be productive citizens and contributors. It is proven time and again that dollars invested in public education and human needs return positive tax dollars and infrastructure to our communities versus those spent on punitive efforts."
• Excerpt: "We also have disparities in crime and punishment in certain communities and socio-economic levels. We must address these underlying root causes and then develop common sense legislation that respects the rights of all citizens."
