  • Education policy should support providing communities with an emerging set of graduates that are enabled to contribute to the social, economic and cultural landscape.
  • Regardless of gender, income, zip code, physical differences, learning differences or any other imaginable barrier, education is a civil right for all.
  • Teachers and school leaders should be empowered through policy to create opportunities for engagement, and optimal teaching and learning success.
Dr. McLeod is passionate about equity and addressing the over representation of African Americans, males, LEP, low SES and Special Education students represented in in-school and out of school suspension data.

Secondly, I would advocate for more funding and options for achieving a High school Diploma. There should be additional supports for those students that fall through the cracks. Most of those that are falling though the cracks are the same students that have been in and out of ISS/OSS, or low SES and Special Education.
