My name is Kim Rice. After being an educator for 27 years, I am running for office to make needed improvement in how our state is run. In 2021, I stood against the health mandates because I didn’t believe that my employer had the right to demand that I furnish my health records nor my deeply held beliefs. But I wasn’t just taking a stand against unjust masking and vaccine mandates, I was also taking a stand against the social conditioning and political agendas that continue to be advanced in our schools, the crime and issues facing our communities, and the out-of-control taxes and spending we are facing. I am running for office because I believe I can be an effective representative for the people of Oregon and take actions to restore our educational system, economy, and make our communities safer again.
  • My first key message is that we need to fix our educational system. Oregon is in the bottom when it comes to academic excellence. Graduation rates keep falling and the standards as well. Our children are in a mental health crisis which has only been exacerbated by the lockdowns and covid restrictions. I am running to support open enrollment/choice and money following the students. I will also firmly stand against the progressive left’s agendas being pushed in our curriculum and school culture under the guise of diversity, equity inclusion and justice-CRT, which is just racism by another name. This dividing of our people must stop. This rewriting of our history must also stop. Also, I am also strongly opposed to the confusing Comprehensi
  • My second key message is NO to more taxes! Oregon is the 5th most expensive state in the union and it is time to stop the Democrat tax and spend factory. I’m running to help roll back the taxes and regulations that are pinching Oregonians during this time of historic inflation brought upon us by poor democrat policies. I’m saying NO to toll charges on our highways, I’m saying let’s roll back the 17% increase on small business they have incurred in the last few years. I support the proposal to the Oregon constitution to freeze property taxes for seniors 65 and older. Let’s make Oregon affordable again!
  • We are in crisis! Our state has worsened under long time Democrat leadership and policies. Oregonians are done with the one-party rule. Our communities have been destabilized with crime, and more and more folks are facing living insecurities of food and housing. We need those individuals who are committing crimes to be held accountable. And we need solutions to addiction, mental health, and homelessness. Measure 110 has made all of these crises worse. Where is all the money going that could be helping these people?! What are the plans and where are the facilities that were supposed to help folks with hard drugs?! And with law enforcement in budget and workforce shortages, how will they be able to make sure our citizens are safe? We as in
The areas of public policy that I am personally most passionate about are education, healthcare, and our state economy.
