Kip Tew
Kip Tew is a former at-large Democratic member of the Indianapolis City Council in Indiana. He was elected in 2014.[1]
Tew was a 2015 Democratic candidate for District 2 of the Indianapolis City Council in Indiana. Kip Tew lost the general election on November 3, 2015.
Biography
Tew received a bachelor's degree from Indiana University Bloomington and a J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. His legal experience includes working as general counsel in a state agency.[2]
Elections
2015
The city of Indianapolis, Indiana, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. A partisan primary election took place on May 5, 2015. The filing deadline for major party candidates who wished to run in this election was February 6, 2015. The filing deadline for independent or minor party candidates was July 15, 2015.[3] Twenty-five city council seats were up for election. Indianapolis's four at-large seats were not up for election, because those seats were scheduled to expire at the end of 2015.[4]
In the Republican primary election for District 2, Colleen Fanning was unopposed. In the Democratic primary, Kip Tew was also unopposed. Fanning defeated Tew and Sam Goldstein (Libertarian) in the general election. Incumbent Angela Mansfield (D) ran for election to the District 1 seat.[5]
