Kirk Stewart Samelson
Kirk Stewart Samelson was a judge of the Colorado 4th Judicial District. He was appointed to this court in 2000 and served as Chief Judge from 2007 until 2012.[1][2] Samuelson retired from the court, effective October 8, 2012.[3]
Biography and Education
Samelson graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1973. He then received his law degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1977. He served in the Air Force on active duty until 1984 and then was in the reserves until 1995, when he retired.[1]
Career
Samelson worked as a private practice lawyer prior to his judicial appointment in 2000. He also served as an additional water judge for Water Division No. 2 in 2001. He has taught as a professor for the Air Force Academy and Colorado College.[1]
