Johnston earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Brigham Young University in 1993. She is currently a stay at home mom. Johnston is married and has eight children.[1]

In the September 16, 2014, general election, incumbent Willie Cowgur ran against newcomer Kirsten Johnston for the Zone 4 seat. Former board member Travis Riggs challenged incumbent Lisa Clark for the Zone 5 seat.

I have 3 issues I want to address. I will develop these ideas over a series of posts. I invite discussion. These are specific reasons I am running for the school board. All three concern readiness to learn for our children.

  • At our elementary schools --Weather related restricted recess and PE currently once a week.
  • Reducing school transitions from 4 buildings to 3: Elementary, Junior High, High school.
